Unsolved Mystery – Who Killed Shastri ?
The Lal Bahadur Shastri was the second Prime Minister of Independent India . After the death of Jawahar Lal Nehru passed away in 1964 , it was questioned if the India still remain united or not ? Lal Bahadur Shastri was a non- controversial leader who have participated in the war of independence for India . Moreover he had a reputable image in INC [ Indian National Congress ] and he had also served as a railway minister but later resigned because of a major railway accident .
Story
The Indo-Pak war which is also called second kashmir war escalated in 1965 .This war marked a major sign in the history of South Asia as it will decide the future relation between both the countries .Major battles took place in Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan. At this time Shastri gave a popular slogan “ JAI JAWAN , JAI KISSAN “. US intervention 22 September 1965 led to a agreement between both the countries known as Taskent Agreement .
Tashkent Agreement:
On January 10, 1966, Indian Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and Pakistani Prime Minister Ayub Khan signed the Tashkent Agreement in the Tashkent , Uzbekistan (then part of The Soviet Union ). However, after few hours later of signing the agreement he passed away. The cause of death was reported heart attack .
Suspicious
- Many people raised voice against lack of care in handling body , no even post-mortem was conducted .
- 3-4 doctors who tested the Shastri body refused to sign on the report which report that states that cause of death was heart attack .
- Doctors marked that it was not natural death .
- People even witnessed blood spots and blue spots indicating poison in Shastri’s body .
- Shastri’s wife Lalita Shastri , even raised her voice against suspicious death of Shastri , but due to lack of evidences no one supported her allegations .
